Bradley Wiggins


Bradley Wiggins, OBE was born 28 April 1980 in Ghent, Belgium.

However he grew up in London and in 2004 Summer Olympic games was Britain's most successful athlete winning 3 track cycling medals (gold, silver and bronze)

He won gold in the 4km individual pursuit. Silver in the team pursuit, and a bronze with Rob Hayles in the Madison.

At the Sydney Olympics in Sydney Wiggins won bronze in the Team Pursuit.

Wiggins has now made the transition to a full time professional road cyclist and rides rides for Credit Agricole.

2005

In the Tour of the Avenir Bradley Wiggins won one of the hardest road stages in the Tour de L'Avenir

In the 2005 World Championships Time Trial Bradley finished in 7th place a minute and half behind the winner Michael Rogers from Australia.

Bradley sometimes rides British time trials. In September 2005 he clocked 18.20 in a 10 mile TT 1 second behind Stuart Dangerfield's National record.

In the 2004 New Year's Honours List he was created an OBE for services to sport.
