Poems to the Divine Mother

I do not know Mother

I do not know, Mother, how to worship You,
How to adore You.
All false sulking, I do not know how to destroy.
I have no magic word to transform all my sulking
Into love divine for You;
Therefore, darkness of my heart never leaves me.
I want to sail in the sea of devotion.
Alas I have no boat of my own.
I know, I know, Mother,
You are my only road,
You are my only goal.

Rak Kare Ma

Mother, when I go away
Being angry with You,
Without telling You,
Will You look for me?
I know I shall tremble in fear
If I look behind and see
That You are running after me
To catch me with Your Heart's
Endless Affection-Compassion-Love.
If You call me, I know Mother,
I shall have to surrender to You.
If You smile, Your Smile will compel me
To return to You..

Kata Bedanar

O Mother Divine, to listen to Your message
I have shed ceaseless tears.
I have turned my life into a fever of tears.
I want nothing but to see You.
With a silent touch
You have asked me to glance at You.
I have failed to abide by Your command.
You know my failure
Was caused by my deplorable whims,
Yet I do not know
Why You have not drawn me toward
   Your heart.

Jadi Bhabi Toma Dakibona Ar

If and when I think that I shall not invoke
    You anymore,
I shall not even look at You, but shall keep
    my eyes shut
And thus derive happiness,
I see You touching my eyes
With the waves of Your Smile.
I know not, Beloved, how and why
You are so close to me today.
Perhaps this is all just a mistake.

These poems by Sri Chinmoy about the Divine Mother melt my heart.

They remind me of Sri Ramakrishna who was one of the greatest devotees of Kali, the Divine Mother. I read the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna with great enthusiasm.  Sri Chinmoy also has a strong devotion to Kali.

Kali has the capacity to remove obstacles for sincere seekers.
